This was probably my favorite artwork that made this semester. I choose this one because I took a lot of time doing this project and it turned out really nice. I like how it displays variety, color, proportion, and much more. I like how it can be viewed from two different sides and see a whole new part of the artwork. If I got a chance to redo one of my artworks this would be the one. I dislike how it is simple and not unique. If I got to redo it I would change it all or add something to make it more interesting to look at. I maybe even would make the dots bigger so they would blend in together. On thing that I learned this semester in art was while doing this artwork. I learned that not everything works out or goes a planned and sometimes you have to make and use a plan B. One reason I learned this is because I had messed up measuring and made it to small but I tried again and it worked out great until it ran short at on spot. I made a plan B and added a little fabric to that particular spot. I also was going to sew the outfit together but it was not working after about the 15th try I gave up and hot glued it instead which turn our really good. I also was going to add hair and a face but running out of time I decided to make something of it's meaning without a face or hair. I can use this in life to keep going even when you fail because sometimes all it takes is a change in direction.
One thing I wish we could have tried out this semester is wood carving. I would have love to try that out and see what I could make out of it. I thought of this idea because I had fun using wooden popsicle stick and would have wanted to see what I could do with a block of wood.

My artwork looks is in a shape of a K to represent my first or my last name that both start with a K. It is a structure that painted yellow to represent my favorite color. My favorite color is pure yellow because it makes me happy. The K also has little pieces of paper of drawing that I made to represent things about me. One is a music note to represent that I like music. Another is a book to represent that I like reading books. A dancer shoe, volleyball, and softball to represent the sport I love to play. Another of an oven mitt to represent cooking and baking. Another with an orange circle inside of a no no sign to represent the hate I have for oranges. A chicken enchiladas to represent y favorite food. A canvas with a bunch of different art stuff to represent my love for any type of art. To create my artwork I uses a piece of paper to draw the template. Then I traced that twice on two different pieces of task board and cut them out. I then glued one side of a stack of dixie cups to one piece of the task board then I glued the other side of the dixie cups to the other piece of task board. I then covered all that with pieces of paper tape. Then I painted it with a thick type of white paint. After that I painted it all pure yellow. I then made the little paper drawings and taped them on to the artwork. I made my artwork to represent the sports, hobbies, and things that I like or dislike. I did this to express my personality for people to get me to know me a little better by just looking at my artwork. My goals of this artwork was to show a little bit about me. Another goal I had was to get my structure to stand and be neat. I also wanted all the piece to go well together and have it a way to show a little bit of my personality. I think my artwork turned out great overall. think I could have added more if I had time to show more of my personality. I also think I could have made the pictures just a little bit bigger to show the details of them more. I am overall though satisfied with the turnout. Here is a slideshow of pictures that I took throughout the process of making this artwork.
Over the past week I have been working on my identity artwork. I have been sketching and exploring different ways to make my art. I have also been engaging in new techniques and persistently working on it. It has been going good so far and I hope all will still be well in the future. I hope my artwork shows my personality like favorite sports, hobbies, food, and things I dislike. I am proud of how it is turning out and I hope it turns out as great as I would like it if not better.
This week we have been working on working on making a plan to make a sculpture that shows our identity. We have been working on answering questions about us to find things we may want to include in this artwork. Doing this we have been observing other peoples artworks to find inspiration and ideas. While doing this it helps us to understand different artworks of many different artist. For my plan I plan to use boards to cut out a K and then use dixie cups for the inside and paper tape on the outside. I then will use this thick white paint and then paint it yellow. I plan to draw and tape pictures that represent me on the letter. |
