Over the past couple of days we have been learning about figure sculpture. As a class we have been working on sketching and exploring new ideas that we can put into this next artwork. We have been looking at not only art worlds in the past but also in the present. For this artwork I plan to do a figure sculpture of a dancer. I choose to do a dancer to represent part of me for I have just finished my 11th year of dance and plan to continue in my future. I choose to do my sculpture pose as a dancer in a turning position. I choose this because I decided that I could make it a hanging art so when the wind catches it it will turn like an actual dance. I plan to do this by starting with wire and doing a paper mache sculpture and then using paint to give it color and use fabric to make a dance uniform that my figure can wear. This is the plan so far and I hope that it turns out to be just as good as it looks in my head.
Here is a picture of the progress I have so far on this artwork. It is a wire base that I made the next step is to put the tinfoil on. It may not look like much now but hopefully it will look amazing later.

My artwork that I have made looks like a cool rainbow spiral sculpture. It has many different colors, sizes, and dimensions. Each time the squares go through the rainbow they go through the rainbow again but with different sizes of squares. It is tall and goes from big to small using square structures to stack it up. I created my artwork by cutting popsicle sticks to size and then painting them with rainbow colors of tempra paint. I then glued the same color and sized sticks in square structures. The took the same sized squares and put them into a rainbow pattern and glued them at different angle and degrees to make a cool spiral project. The big idea behind my artwork is to show non-representational art in a certain way or form and that is also one of my goals for this artwork. Other goals would be to show color, proportion, variety, size, and pattern. I overall think this artwork turned out great and it is hands down my favorite artwork I did this year so far.
My architecture artwork was made out of popsicle sticks. It is a basic square with a porch with roof on top. There is also a loft on the house inside That is open for the views. I created this artwork by using popsicle sticks and lining them up to the right side. I then used wood glue to two popsicle sticks on the inside to hold the structure together. After doing this multiple times I then glued them into the house form I wanted. This big idea behind my artwork is to show a nice little house that would be suitable for people to live in. My goals for this artwork is to show architecture and show it by representing a house using popsicle sticks. I think this artwork turned out basic and could have been done better. The reason it was simple and thrown together because I start myself with a too big of a project that I could not handle in the short period of time we had to work on it.
