My least favorite artwork would probably my collage artwork. I did this artwork with magazines that I cut cows out of then I glued the cows to the paper and added popcorn seeds. This one is my least favorite because it was to simple for me even after adding the popcorn seeds. This artwork I would want to redo so that it can be more unique and I can't figure out a background to add more to the picture. If I redid this artwork I would add a lot more thing to give it more structure. In this art class I learned that being a perfectionist is not alway the route to go on. I may still take to much time on my artworks but I am willing to work on improving that in the future. I wish in this artwork we could have done some screen printing because that is something that sound fun to do and learn.

My artwork is made of clay. It is a structure of me with a purple shirt, brown braided hair, black headband, and a black ponytail. My artwork was started by using white modeling clay. Using my hands I formed myself being precise. When I felt like the structure fit my my form I use a small knife the make the eyes, eyebrows, mouth, and gave the hair more details. I then let the modeling clay dry throughout the day. When it was dry enough I used the leftover acrylic paint I had from last project to add color. I then mixed and painted my artwork to show me more vivantley. The big idea of this artwork was to show me and my identity. I want my artwork to show what I looked like and my features. I also did braided hair for me represent that I like to do things with my hair. I also added a headband because I wear them once in a while but when I was younger I work them all the time. I was going to do a yellow shirt for my favorite color but though it would be hard to see the skin and shirts beginning and end. I love the way my artwork turned out except for the nose turning out to be a lot bigger than mine. Overall it turned out better than expected. My plan for this artwork is to do a clay sculpture of me. Along the way I have been observing other artists like Frank Big Bear, Laura Youngbird, and Dyani White Hawk. I have also been understanding different artworlds be looking at these different artist and the way they use their culture to make art. I hope to make a beautiful artwork and post about it in future blog posts.
The past few weeks I have been working on collage. I started by observing other collage artist and their artworks. I did not anything that I knew would be in my artwork. I decided to something with cows because we live on a huge farm with about 1,300 head of beef cattle. This means that we get a bunch cattle magazines in the mail. This got me to the envisioning of my artwork I knew it would included lots of cows, so I cut a bunch of different size cows out and glued them down on paper in different directions. I then decided to add more of a different touch instead of having just cows from magazines. I decided because on our farm our cows love to eat cow and I had just happen to add some popcorn seeds collected for collaging. I added them to my collage to make it stick out more. My artwork looks like a photograph that I had taking on November 14, 2020 at 7:06 AM. The Photo was taking outside of my front yard in the morning when the sun was rising. There is a beautiful pink and blue sky that looks like a cotton candy swirl. There is also a horizon line of trees. There is also two pine trees and a maple tree that are silhouette in the yard. In the distance to the right is part of our farm with old buildings that have been there for decades. You can also see a road and a driveway that lead to my house and a mailbox that is right by my driveway.
I created my artwork using a medium sized canvas. I used acrylic paint to paint the canvas and add color. I only used red, yellow, blue, white, and black paint but had mix colors together to get other colors that fit the picture. I used many different mixtures giving them a little bit of a darker look as the daylight had not fully arrived yet. Giving my artwork this type of color brought the scene to life. The big idea that I had behind my artwork is to take on of my own landscape photographs and turn it into a painting. I wanted everything about this artwork to be mine own creatings for photography to a painting. I also wanted it be just like the photo but also make changes in colors, shades, and objects. Overall I think it turned out great and looks fantastic. I feel that I had accomplish all my goal. One thing that I did struggle with on this artwork is the road and keeping it straight. The lines did end up crooked at some points but I was able to fix them by taking more time to get them straighter. This artwork turned out successful to me. Lately I have been working on a landscape artwork using acrylic paint. I have been sketching and exploring different ways and ideas to put in my artwork. I have been observing other artist to help find inspiration to put into my own artworks.
Painting Boot CampA few weeks ago I was working on doing a painting boot camp in art. While doing painting boot camp I developed craft by learning new types of ways to make textures or designs. I learned that to make these designs you use different brush strokes and techniques. I also explored different painting colors and painting mixtures. I made a color wheel and different color shade bar. I had also made a color scheme using acrylic paints. LandscapeOver the past week I have been working on landscapes. I been making plans as of what to do for a final landscape painting. I been working on expressing different types of scapes and the nature that goes in to them. I have also been observing different landscape painter to get inspirations and ideas for my artwork. I finally found a photography of a sunset at my house that I took and decided to use that so I sketch it out very quickly.
The title of my object is "School Supplies." I titled it this because of all the school supplies that I looked at, and repeated in this artwork. My artwork has parts that are more dull in color because I wanted so things to stick out when viewed. I made the so colors brighter than others to help give the artwork some main points for the eyes to catch on. In my artwork I used a little bit of ink to give off a bold black for the sharpie covers. I also used permanent marker to outline my sketches. The main thing I used was artist markers to give off nice vibrant colors. I used a piece of parchment paper to trace all the different triangles and to flip them in different directions. In the beginning I really wanted my artwork to be a mandala. I kept forgetting my object so I wanted to just look up a mandala and do that. For this project though it was not going to cut it. I found supplies in my backpack to do which consisted of school supplies that I had gotten for this year. I still wanted to do a mandala and was not liking anything different. It wasn't until my teacher Mrs. Underhill showed me a way to do mandala using my supplies. I was so happy to have found a way and I was very inspired by Mrs. Underhill's ideas. The goal of my artwork was to be able to make an observational drawing with some of my school supplies. My goal was to make make an observational drawing into a form of mandala. Overall I was able to meet those goals with my artwork. The goals I had made helped me to keep going. It had also help the artwork turn out great. In this artwork I learned that you can make mandala using anything you want to draw. The artwork turn out better than I imagined because the color are a lot bolder than I imagined in my head. This artwork will help inspire other artworks in the future. I loved doing it do much that to make more mandala's like that in the future. Dan Brugeman's art is created by using paints to make a scenery that matches the photos that he takes. Dan Brugeman's likes taking pictures of different things at valley fair and bunker hill skiing place. My artwork that I worked on today shows man-made roads and nature mountains and trees. I did this drawing because I wanted to include mountains and I added road and trees to give it more detail. I think my drawing could be ruined by natural disasters. My artwork can also enhance the beauty of nature.
A thinking drawing is a drawing that comes from the mind and thoughts. Thiebaud uses thinking drawing by balance of color, arrangement of objects, patterns, and use of light. Thiebaud uses notes to help him prep for the final artwork. Thiebaud preparatory sketches are also like his final because he uses trial and error to create one final artwork. Thiebaud uses different sizes and arrangements on the ties to see which one looks more realistic. I drew this pie and a piece of pie because it is a dessert that I love to enjoy at Thanksgiving.
