My artwork is a dancer in a turning position. The right leg is behind the figure at about 110 degrees and the other foot is straight underneath the figure. The left arm is is rounded in front of the figures body and the right arm is is rounded above the figures head. The figure is wearing a red leotard underneath a really poofy red tutu. I created my artwork using wire to make a structure then building the body up using tin foil. After that I used paper towels and modge podge to smooth the figure out. I then used peach paint to give the skin color. I then used red fabric and sewed a leotard to fit the figure. I then used red tool and a piece of elastic to tie the tool on and make a tutu. The big idea behind my artwork is to show my 11 years of dancing that I did and the many more years I plan to do in the future. I also wanted to show how dance is always stereotyped as not hard, not a sport, and much more. I showed this by putting no face on my figure. My goals for my artwork were to show dance and a position we turn in. Another goal was to get the dancer to be able to be hung on a string so it could turn like an actual dancer in the breeze. Overall I think my artwork turned out great. I like how the outfit added color and how it really show what a dancer looks like.

Over the past week I have been working on making a clay bowl. I first started with a block of clay. I had no clue what I was going to turn it into. I started forming it into a bowl shape until I found a design of bowl that I liked. I tried forming it but struggled to get the right shape and form while doing this process. Once I was satisfied with what I had and did not want to touch it no more I set it in a place to dry. Then after it dried it was bisqued fired and then was set out to be glazed. I then picked my colors of glaze "Mosaic Blue" and "Sassy Yellow". I chose to a midnight sky look with "Mosaic Blue" background with "Sassy Yellow" stars. After that it was fired again and ended with my final product. I was so happy to see the "Sassy Yellow" stars show up on the dark "Mosaic Blue" sky. Overall it turned out really nice but would have been better if I had smoothed the edges out more. Through this process I developed craft by trying materials that I was not very familiar with. I also engaged and persist through my mistake by making them into something new.
